Why Worry? and what you can do about it.

Do you ever find yourself worrying about something, imagining the worst outcome of something over which you have absolutely no control over?

I’ve probably spent at least 30% of my life worrying.  No, maybe even 50%!

I’ve worried about my children, relationships, money, health, loss, always fearing what “could” happen.

I even worry about my car getting a flat tire while I’m driving on the freeway.

At some point, I decided that worrying was a futile attempt, as it didn’t do a bit of good for me or anyone else.

I realized that I was only sending the vibration of worry out into the Universe.

Worry is a non-constructive effort.

When my son was in high school was when I finally realized that worrying about him walking the streets at night was pointless.

That’s when I took up water color quilting.

I could spend all of that time and energy on something creative.

I could spend the time used for worrying, cutting, and piecing together the pictures that I wanted to create.

My mind would be healed as I worked with the colors and focused on creating something beautiful.

It Worked!

I would become so lost in my art that time previously spent on worry, was replaced with a mind that wanted to create beautiful things.  And the time would pass so quickly!.

I just had to trust that my son would be okay.  And one night, when he arrived home, he sat down with me, and started helping me place some of the squares.  A very special moment for me.

Another thing I learned was to imagine a white light surrounding whatever it was that I was worried about.

Whether it was my car, a person, or a situation, I would call in my angels, ask for their help and protection, and put a white light of protection around it.

Then I would just hand it over to God.

I trained my little ego mind to delegate it’s concerns to the greater power.

I still worry at times.

But now, I recognize what’s happening, and redirect it’s course before it takes over.

I just live one day at a time and focus on the Now as much as possible.

Live each moment to the fullest and let the future take care of it’s self.

Now that I’m older, I even have less lines of worry on my forehead.

They’ve been softened and smoothed by the Angels.

Worry ends when faith begins.

For we walk by faith not by sight.  2 Cor. 5:7

Dear Diary…Day 21…count down of the 27 day feng shui challenge

March Planner

Wow!  7 Days have passed, and I’ve been busy clearing, organizing, and purifying my home of unwanted things.

Today, I took out 27 items to recycle!

Yesterday, I went out to sell some gold jewelry that I never wear.

While I was out, I received a text that a friends company was hiring.

I told her that I would bring my resume in the following day, and hopefully get a chance to speak with the manager.

So many people, like my son! just think I’m a dreamer.  As long as they continue to think that way, and not dig deeper by trying these things out,  they may never know how we can work with the Universal Laws.

Now, as I am making room for” what is mine” to come into my life, the results are beginning to present themselves, in “unseen ways”.  That’s why it is so important to trust!

It’s important that we still do our part.

  1. We have to set our intentions of what we want
  2. Write our goals down so that we can review them
  3. Continue with the process of removing the items that drag us down
  4. Have faith that what is ours will come in perfect timing and perfect abundance
  5. Keep a positive mind-set so that our life is flowing.  Negative thoughts will block our progress.

My daughter got me started with journaling, using the Washi tape and stickers, when I was in Hawaii.  We had so much fun.  She would pull out all of her endless supply of stickers and Washi tape, colored pens, and we would get busy planning our coming months.

I didn’t know what a big deal it was, until I had a conversation with a lady in the local hobby store.  She admitted that she had more that 300 rolls of Washi Tape!  She was addicted!

I’ve come to believe that Beautifying our journal/planner can be another form of visioning and feng shui.  Our lives can work on a higher order when we are actively writing down our intentions, dreams, and ambitions.

And using the colorful patterns can only bring more joy!

Inspiration for a little night stand.

I’m becoming more clear on what I want for my life as I go through this process.  Only 7 Days have passed, and I’ve already had so many wonderful experiences.

Cottage Mavens, I do hope that you will give this process a try.  It can only benefit you in Miraculous Ways!

Today’s affirmation:  I am undisturbed by appearances.  I trust in God – and He now brings to me the desires of my heart.  My good now overtakes me in a surprising way.  ( Florence Scovill Shinn)

Multiple Streams…

Re-inventing ones self at age 63 doesn’t especially happen over night, but to some may be necessary.

We are living in a critical time when Baby Boomers are reaching retirement age.  Many are being forced into retirement before they are ready.

The question is:  what do I do now?  What is my life purpose?  Have I already lived it, or is there something more for me to do?

What floats my boat?

Let me tell you…

It’s a new path of discovery, it’s a chance to do something you’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to re-invent yourself.  And make some extra money in the process.

In the last century we worked for large corporations and thrived.  The money was good and the stress levels were high.

Now, if we think about all of the skills we’ve garnered up to this point, the hobbies that have held our interest, a pattern will emerge.

We will start to see something taking shape.

For me, I love painting and refinishing old, classic furniture.

I love stencilling….

But at this time in my life, I don’t have alot of room for that.

So, I’ve discovered doll furniture, smaller items that I can paint and decoupage and stencil.

There is so much information available nowadays, where we can learn something new. Youtube, Kahn Academy, the local library…

I once read a story about a woman who started a website selling tumble weeds.  She did it as a joke, but her business took off.

Then there’s the guy who started trading up on Craigslist.  He started with a Red Paper Clip ( which is also the name of his book) and ended up with a house!

It took me a long time to get my nerve up to open an Etsy store.

Now whenever I make a sale, I get so excited.  My photos aren’t the greatest and I need to work on that, but i’m selling stuff.  My top seller?  Walnut shells!  Who knew?

I’m seeing a trend of new entrepeneurs emerging.  Small business owners are picking up speed across the country.

People are creating little villages of people that include friends, family, and strangers across the globe.  And it’s all done by internet communication.  There is so much kindness and goodwill among people on the web.  A new global community, where it doesn’t matter the color of your skin or what you look like, how old or young you are.  There is so much support from others in the same boat, and there is enough room for everyone, each and every individual who wants to give.

It took a couple of years for me to start blogging.

Now I really feel like I’ve accomplished something when I post a new blog.  Even if no one reads it.

My pictures aren’t the best, but that’s something I have to work on.

It’s a process….

The point is ~~~ it doesn’t have to be perfect…..

Life is a process….

The time to get started is now….

What do you like to do that can bring in a stream of income?
