Keep your eye on the goal.
What can I say? Today was a day needing rest. A do nothing sort of day. Have you had one of those days where you really don’t feel like working on that project, making dinner, or cleaning the bathroom? Well, today was one of those days for me.
I decided to make it a day of releasing. I’ve been releasing lots of “things” that no longer serve me and it’s been a wonderful change.
It’s like a space has opened up that has allowed me to finish some projects that I plan to share with you in the days ahead.
But today was different. I wanted to check in with my mind and do some inner reflection. In other words, a non-physical kind of day.
I spent some time with Doreen Virtue’s tapes, “The Best of Doreen Virtue”. I did Karma releasing, Healing with the Angels, and Manifesting with the Angels.
One of the most powerful releasing techniques that I have found originated in Hawaii. It is called Ho’oponopono.
Basically, whenever you come to an obstacle in your path, whether it’s a person, or a situation, you visualize that person or situation in your mind and mentally say to them: I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thankyou.
You can continue repeating this as your mantra throughout the day.
You can even use it on people that have passed on.
It’s kind of a feng shui for the mind.
In Paramahansa Yogananda’s book ” Where There is Light” he says,
Repeated performance of an action (or habit) creates a mental blueprint. Every action is performed mentally as well as physically, and repetition of a particular action and it’s accompanying thought pattern causes the formation of subtle electrical pathways in the physiological brain, somewhat like the grooves in a phonograph record.
After a time, whenever you put the needle of attention on those “grooves” of electrical pathways, it plays back the “record” of the original mental blueprint. Each time an action is repeated, these grooves of electrical pathways become deeper , until the slightest attention automatically “plays” those same actions over and over again.
These patterns make you behave in a certain way, often against your wish. Your life follows those grooves that you yourself have created in the brain.
In that sense, you are not a free person, you are more or less a victim of the habits you have formed. Depending on how set those patterns are, to that degree you are a puppet. But you can neutralize the dictates of those habits. And you can completely erase the grooves of bad habits by meditation.
Mind clutter and physical clutter go hand in hand.
Our homes are a reflection of our larger self.
Today, write down 3 things that this process of decluttering has done for you.
Maybe you had a new idea or realization about something.
Did you manifest anything unexpected?
Have you heard from someone you had been thinking about?
Maybe you found something that brought back a flood of memories.
Were you able to release something that you thought you never would?
Please leave a comment below.
And carry on with me to the 27th Day.
