Dear Diary…Day 12…of the 27 things for 27 days challenge….


All of the time spent in Hawaii last year, really helped me to realize that I’m okay with less stuff/projects to work on.

In fact, it allowed more time to work on self, which was needed.

I guess you could say that I was focusing my feng shui activities on my body.

I’ve talked about detoxing in other posts.  What I was detoxing from was heavy metal build up that can be caused from pesticides, plastics, and man-made materials in the home and environment and the food that we put into our bodies every day.

I was also detoxing from Candida, or yeast over-growth, which is primarily caused from sugar and gluten and causes much of the bloating in our tissues, weight gain, fungus, and gluten insensitivity.  IMG_3119

By getting massages, colon therapy, and exercising every day, I was detoxing my skin from lotions and perfumes, makeup, and hair dye, that build up in our tissues and organs and can lead to illness.

I’m still working on detoxing a lifetime of using these products in some form every day.

That’s a lot of stuck energy to carry around inside.

I was also able to let go of many stuck emotions.


Now that I’m home again, I’ve come to realize that I really would like more time for being in Nature walking, swimming, and yoga.

I need to find balance.

As I clear my space, not only am I considering a few storage solutions, but I’m also making more room for me.


25 lbs. lighter

It’s all too easy to bury myself in books, collections, clothes and shoes that I never wear, mail, and an endless habit of consumerism that’s keeping my life stuck.

It really does feel good to let things go!


Green Smoothie Recipe  ( I’ve been promising this for a while.  This is my big energy secret that keeps me going!)


Here’s what you’ll need….

Blender, Vitamix, or Magic Bullet to mix in

1 banana peeled

1 orange peeled and cut into 4ths

handful of organic spinach

fill container with 1 cup filtered water

Add 1 tsp.  Green powder of your choice ( I like Green Max powder from Swanson’s vitamins)

1 tsp organic Psyllium powder (Secret ingredient:  I blend the dry psyllium powder when I bring it home to a finer grain.  It’s easier to digest, and it is smoother to drink)

1/2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice

Blend everything to a smooth consistency and drink immediately ( while the live enzymes are active for the most energy).


It tastes delicious.  Your kids will love it too!

I’ve been substituting one meal a day with this smoothie.

  2. I’m a bit behind in reading your daily blogs. One thing that came to me when you mentioned doing feng shui for your body… I don’t know where I got this, if I read it, heard it somewhere, but it was a long time ago. If we wouldn’t even dare to think of sweeping dirt across a threshold into a spiritual temple (the building itself), why would we allow ourselves to feed our bodies so much junk (the dirt)? Are not our bodies spiritual temples? For me, learning to eat in a healthy and nourishing way has become part of my spiritual journey. It hasn’t been easy. Thank you for sharing your experience and hope!

    1. Great point Ellen. It’s just that we are “sold” products which are misleading and are making us sick. So many things on the market like low-fat, sugar-free, etc. are full of dangerous chemicals. I’m just trying to help.


      1. I haven’t been able to try any yet… I’ve made the grocery lists, bought some of the ingredients. Hubs took over the shopping and meal prep way back when Mom got sick. What I meant by ‘tried and true’ was more of a compliment to you for already creating/trying these, and trusting you and your experience. <3.
