Today I played. At least, it seemed like play. I’ve been painting some miniature dollhouse furniture.
I took a trip to the local thrift store and found this book.
It opens up with rooms inside. I laid a piece of craft paper down for carpet.
The wheels started spinning, and I could see it working as a backdrop for my tiny furniture. Even though it’s not in the 1:12 scale, it lends a charming aire.
I guess you could say that I was combining work with play.
I never owned a doll house when I was a child. Something about playing with these small items of furniture, gave me a very nostalgic feeling. I do remember, one Summer, spending time on the screened- in patio, with my younger sister, making doll furniture from toilet paper rolls, and wood scraps and nails, and using an old cardboard box for the “house”.
This couldn’t have been a better find! Now, I have a stage for my photo shoots.
I can combine work and play!
And play and work!
Life is good, isn’t it?
I did take out the garbage today, and there were at least 27 items in the trash.
